The Zhou dynasty was in power for nearly 800 years which was the longest lasting dynasty in Chinese History. Western Zhou was a small country, King Wu built his capital near Changan in the banks of the Wei River. In the eleventh century BC, the Western Zhou dynasty moved to the Eastern Zhou dynasty and started to gain power and expand rapidly, being a threat to the Shang dynasty. The Eastern Zhou was ruled by emperor Ping. The Eastern Zhou dynasty had gotten into many wars and started to collapse. The Eastern Zhou dynasty ended up losing there land because there was too much land and they couldn't control the power.
